Chiparus Art Deco Bronze Dancer Figurine
You are viewing an outstanding Scupture of the ‘Starfish Dancer’, by Demetre Chiparus, master sculptor of the Art Deco period. It’s a delightful, charming piece depicting a young lady in an almost Arabesque pose but wearing typical clothes of the twenties. It would make for a great collectable decorative piece for your home. Demetre H. Chiparus was born in Romania in 1886 and then travelled to Paris before World War I to become more involved with his artwork. This is a later recasting from the original and it is signed on the base – please see the close up photo.
