The Getty in Los Angeles just has to be my favourite museum in the world. The size is just perfect – not overwhelming like The Louvre – it’s just the right space for a lovely day out. It’s spread out across five buildings each dedicated to a period from Classical Antiquity to modern art – an asthetes paradise. I was particularly impressed with the classical bronze section – mainly Italian bronzes of classical themes and Roman myth. I took a few photos – of course you are not allowed to use a flash in the gallery so some of the lighting isn’t up to scratch but you get an idea.

– What I love about this piece is the fact that the art deco movement was so obsessed with women in terms of figurative art so it’s great to see a statue of a male

– J.C. Leyendecker was originally German and was most famous as an illustrator working out of the US in the 1920s
– Such a great piece, man is depicted smoking a cigarette and looking down reflectively, of course all kitted out in a the dress of the day with a baggy suit
