At Millys Marvels we love all things Art Nouveau, we love the aesthetic of this period; it is so beautiful and dreamy always such a popular period of the Arts. We have a collectible range of Art Nouveau plique a jour jewellery which we are very proud of.
Plique a Jour is a French term for Letting in The Daylight. Plique a Jour is an enamelling technique where enamel is applied in blocks, very much like cloissone. The enamel has no backing so the light can come through like a stained glass window. The plique a jour enamel technique reminds us of a beautiful mosaic made of glass.
This specially formulated plique a jour enamel glass was used to create jewellery, stained glass windows, lamps and objects d’art.
Plique a Jour enamel is a very difficult crafting technique and that is why at Milly’s Marvels we are excited to offer a beautiful handpicked range of plique a jour enamel jewelry. If there is something specific that you are looking for please get in touch to see if we can help you find what you are looking for.
