– I love this piece, so eye catching and distinctive a real feat of cabinet making and other crafts and skills
– Bombe refers to the bulbous shape and we have a whole range of bombe furniture, mainly bombe commodes
– This is antique and we date it to circa 1880 which adds to it’s importance, collectability and value
– Just look at that marquetry inlay – lozenge motifs with ebonized trim, then the central parquetry spiral motifs really grab the eye
– Marble top is smooth and chip free
– Purchased from a dealer on the Marche Dauphine at the Paris flea markets
