– Exquisite French Empire desk or bureau plat
– We date this to circa 1860 and it really is a handsome piece
– Main structure of desk has been made from kingwood
– Desk is very solid and sturdy, comfortable to sit and work at making it a great piece for a home office set up
– Ormolu fixtures are well cast with wonderful patina
– Leather tooled writing surface has a few nicks and marks which adds to character and patina, but could be changed if required
– Two drawers at front so ample storage
– We purchased this at Les Puces flea market in Paris and it was a real find
