Pair Pate Sur Pate German Porcelain Urn Jugs
You are viewing a gorgeous pair of Meissen style pate sur pate porcelain jugs. The pieces feature very intricate white p�te sur p�te work depicting the classical tunic clad figures around the main body of the bowl. P�te sur p�te is the technique whereby the white porcelain is overlaid on the blue surface of the bowl. Ie you can feel the delicate relief of the figures. P�te sur p�te is a famous technique for Meissen porcelain and ceramics.
The jugs are very elaborately crafted and I only hope the photos convey the amount of work that would have gone into the making of these.
