Antique Solid Silver Western Cowgirl Mirror Compact
I have for sale a stunning antique sterling silver mirror compact. The compact has a pictorial enamel image displayed on the front of a cowgirl. The cowgirl is holding a gun in her hand. The compact has a beautiful shape to it. The silver on the back is engine turned and wonderful quality. The silver is hallmarked ‘Sterling’ on the inside. Condition: Excellent.

Melon Fruitwood Tead Caddy
You are viewing a charming Melon fruit wood tea caddy. The caddy is in the shape of a Melon and has a stalk sprouted from the top. The Melon Caddy has a gorgeous shape. The caddy comes complete with key and is zinc lined which helped to keep the tea fresh. The wood has a beautiful patina and finish. Condition: Good

Tea was introduced to England from China in the middle of the 17th century. Although there are earlier references of its use by traders in China, it was not until 1657 that we have the first account of its sale in England. Together with the fragrant leaf came the respect for this drink and the ceremonial way in which it was to be prepared and drunk. Tea was pivotal in the history of Britain in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Tea Caddies were kept by the wealthy to store their tea. The tea caddies were lined with zinc to help keep the tea fresh. The tea caddies had a lock and key to stop temptation from the maids prying hands. The key was often kept hung from a chain around the owner’s waist. Tea caddies reflected their owners wealth and status.

French Porcelain Panelled Bronze Carriage Clock
This is a charming Antiqued bronze French carriage clock. The clock has porcelain panels to the left and right side. You ca see the clocks movement from the top glass panel. The clock’s face has Made in France on the front. The clock does not come with key so I have not been able to test if it works. Condition: Very Good

Carriage clocks were designed in France for travelling in the early-nineteenth century. A carriage clock’s case was typically rectangular and constructed from plain or gilt brass and equipped with a carrying handle. The clocks were often set with glass, though more expensive models featured enamel or porcelain panels.
