Pair XL Bronze Lion Gatekeepers Lions Cats

Pair XL Bronze Lion Gatekeepers Lions Cats

You are viewing an impressive pair of nearly lifesize English bronze lion gatekeepers. I hope the photos do this stunning pair some justice, they’re certainly more impressive in the flesh.

The lions remind us of the famous ones found in Trafalgar square by Edward Landseer. The casting is of the highest quality and the patina to the bronze has a lovely dark nutty brown finish to it.

Details like the mane are particularly worthy of detail, as the lions locks flow. The face is also very expressionistic and the artist has really caught the creatures character and power with skill.

These would make a great decorative piece for your home or garden. Being bronze these would of course be able to live outside with no fear of rusting and would make excellent gatekeepers either side of your driveway or entrance.

They are both offered in perfect condition ready for use right away. We bought these from an architectural salvage firm in Islington, North London.

Bronze Statue Mare Foal Horse Mother Child

Bronze Statue Mare Foal Horse Mother Child

You are viewing a lovely study of a foal suckling from its mother, cast from brown bronze. The artist has captured the scene with amazing skill which you can see from the muscletone, balance and proportions of the creatures.

Its a gentle scene which will appeal to horse lovers and this would make for a great decorative item in your home.

Being bronze this will last forever without rusting and hence is a great investment as it will always appreciate in value. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing and nice to look at they can also become heirlooms.

Bronze is any of several alloys consisting mainly of copper and tin. Neither ancient nor modern bronzes consist only of these two metals. Zinc, lead, and silver were added to bronze alloys by Greek and Roman founders for use in tools, weapons, coins, and objects of art. Zinc, lead, and other metals are occasionally present in modern bronze.

CLICK HERE TO BUY THIS BRONZE CASTING ELEPHANT STATUE ANIMALS ON CANONBURY ANTIQUES

Bronze Casting Elephant Statue Animals

Bronze Casting Elephant Statue Animals

You are viewing a gorgeous bronze casting depicting an elephant running. The piece has been cast from the finest bronze which has a lovely dark brown patina to it. Hopefully the photos go some way in conveying the intricacy and detail, particularly features like the texture to the elephants skin. This would have been very time consuming to achieve.

This would make for a great collectors piece and would look great in your home. The sculpture is offered in perfect condition ready for home use right away.

This piece has been made using the lost wax technique. The original model would have been made using clay or plaster. Over this a thin layer of wax would have been covered and then around this more clay. This would then be put in the oven and the wax would melt creating the space for the molten bronze to be poured into, once this had set the clay could be broken away and you would be left with the bronze casting. Hence the wax is lost in the process. It’s is the oldest and most timely method of creating bronze sculptures and figurines.
