We were over the moon when we found out that the BBC wanted to film at our Canonbury Antiques showroom just north of London. And now you can view the upcoming show (Monday Sept 3rd BBC2 7.00PM) for yourself. Get your own national TV tour of our furniture and antiques showroom.
The show features Richard Wilson and Annette Crosbie as they trawl the UK looking for antiques to take to auction. So what better place to start than at the large Canonbury Antiques warehouse just 25 minutes north of London.

We were very excited to host the celebrities and TV crew a few months back and can’t wait to tune in on Monday. Video to follow…

Joanna Lumley Likes Canonbury Antique’s Peter Pan

Nice bit of press for Canonbury Antiques in Sunday’s (April 27th 2012) Style Section of the Sunday Times. Canonbury Antiques got a mention as actress, charity worker, OBE and all round national treasure Joanna mentioned the Peter Pan bronze we sell. The original bronze Peter Pan is in London’s Kensington Gardens.

The author of Peter Pan, JM Barrie, chose the location in central London as he lived near there and would walk through the park for inspiration before the books publication in 1906. The sculptor Sir George Frampton created the the statue in 1912 and it can still be viewed there today.

– This type of marquetry would have been created on the Amalfi coast in Italy
