Art Deco French Bronze Chiparus Tanara Dancer Figurine

You are viewing a gorgeous bronze casting depicting the famous ‘Tanara’ statue by Dimitri Chiparus. Chiparus was one of the leading sculpturists of the art deco movement working in France, and this is one of his finest works.

The lady is clad in typical 1920s Egyptican looking dressand adopts a wonderful exotic pose as she dances. It is all very evocative of the twenties and she somehow embodies the essence of the art deco look, in the process making this a wonderful piece for your collection.

The casting is of the highest quality and the bronze features a polychrome patina. She stands firmly on the white marble base. This would be a later recasting from the original and we bought her from a dealer in Les Halles, Paris, whilst on a recent French buying trip.

She is offered in perfect condition ready for home use right away. We will ship her to anywhere in the world.

You are viewing a gorgeous art deco silver bronze figurine depicting a semi clad women holding a bow. I hope the photos do this stunning piece some justice, it’s certainly better in the flesh and would make a great adddition to any collection. It is a representation of Diana the Archer.

The piece is signed ‘Bourraine’ on the base. Bourraine was a famous French sculpturist working during the deco period and after. We have included a close up photo of the signature. Marcel Bouraine: born in Pontoise. He was interned in Switzerland where he produced several monuments, one of which was in Lausanne. He exhibited at all the main Paris salons. This is a later recast from the original.

The piece is a typical 20s stylised treatment of the female form, all aerodynamism and sleek symmetry. Check out the contours of her sash which echo the form of her body and the overall style of this piece as she points her bow into the air. The casting is of the highest quality, check out features like her fine hands and feet.

She sits squarely on the black marble base and is offered in perfect condition ready for home use right away.

It\\\\\\\’s a classic deco pose – a study in the 1920s version of the ideal female, all nubile aerodynaminism and lithe limbs. She stands knees slightly bent as she hold the frosted glass orb aloft above her head. This is a later recasting from the original and is offered in great shape. The casting to the bronze is superb, check out details like the close ups of the hands and face which illustrate the quality.

She stands on a black tiered marble base which is smooth and chip free. The lamp is wired for the US market, so this is ready to use right away, of course it can easily be adapted for different countries with an adaptor plug. This is based in the US where we will ship from.
