– This is a later recasting of the famous ‘Winner of the Derby’ bronze by the artist Isidore Bonheur (1827-1901)
– The bronze is a fine brown cast for the horse and a darker brown for the jockey and base

– The patina to it is fantastic and the piece is offered in perfect condition.
– The jockey is depicted lovingly stroking the mare who it looks like is just about to break into a cantor

It’s a large piece at three feet high. The eagle has been caught in a dramatic pose as he looks as if he is about to take off – wings held up on the verge of being outstretched and his beak open, head cocked to one side.

For lovers of this great bird, this is an immortilisation par excellence. It would look great as an impressive decorative item. The patina to the bronze has a lovely dark brown finish and this is offered in perfect condition.
