– Gorgeous French Empire commode or chest of drawers
– Features intricate marquetry inlay work, with the eye naturally being drawn to the main cherub panel
– The cherub sits in a laurel wreath and is embedded into the lighter walnut
– At other points the cabinet is constructed from rosewood, kingwood and softer fruitwoods for some of the inlay sections
– There are two drawers so there is ample storage space – Marble top is smooth and chip free
– Purchased from a dealer on Marche Dauphine at the Paris flea markets
