French Bronze Deco Figurine Semiramis Signed Preiss

 

You are viewing a gorgeous art deco bronze figurine of the famous Semiramis figure. The piece is signed Preiss on the back of the sculpture – please see close up photo.

Preiss has really caught the beauty and poise of the female with great skill, check out details like how dress has been rendered and the expressions. She stands on a black marble base and is offered in great shape and we will ship to anywhere in the world.

Preiss (born in Germany 1882) was a famous sculpturist in the 1920s who studied in Paris and worked in Berlin with Poertzel. He was famed for his classic deco studies of the female form and this is one of his most famous works. This is a later recasting from the original. It’s a classic art deco piece and the proportions to the female and the quality to the casting are amazing. This really would be the centre piece to any collection.

You are viewing a gorgeous French bronze lamp in the shape of a deco lady as she holds aloft the frosted orb light shade. The piece is signed A Ouline on the base. Ouline was originally from Belgium but worked out of Paris in the 1920s producing various sculptures and works of art. This is a later casting from the original.

You can see how the figurine somehow captures the essence of the deco aesthetic with its symmetry and the manner in which it embodies the 1920s female ideal. The female is lithe and angular, offset by the flowing ribbon scarf, a typical deco motif to represent aerodynanism and energy.

The casting is of the highest quality – the brown patina in great shape. Check out details like her fine features and muscle tone, the work of a great artist. It is signed on the back of the statue, please see close up photo.

This piece is based in the US where we will ship from. You are viewing a gorgeous art deco lamp. This is a later casting from the original and is offered in great condition. I hope the photos do this stunning piece some justice, it’s certainly better in the flesh.

I hope you agree how it somehow epitomises the art deco aesthetic, as the girl drapes herself seductively over the light box with drapes. She wears a characteristic 20s hat as he head is cocked to one side. She stands on the tired base, another deco motif.

This really is a stylish collectable piece and in the right location this would be the talking point of any collection. This is a light and is wired for use in the US – it lets out a really atmospheric glow from the light box. I’ve shown some examples of how it looks in the pictures. It even has two settings for different lighting. I have also included numerous close up shots to illustrate the amazing detail to the casting, things like her hands and face.

You are viewing an amazing silvered bronze art deco figurine in the shape of a hoop girl. The piece stands firmly on a black marble base and somehow manages to capture the 1920s deco aesthetic.

The piece is just over one foot tall and is a classic example of art deco. The lady is naked as she stands back with leg outstretched as she pulls on the large hoop. This would make for a great addition to any collection.

She is offered in perfect condition ready for home use right away. The black marble base is also chip and flake free. We were lucky enough to buy her one morning at Les Puces flea market in Paris.
